2011 Inter- club fell grand prix organised by Middleton, Radcliffe, Rochdale, Rossendale and Saddleworth Harriers and ACs and Astley & Tyldesley Roadrunners.

Area Fell Race Grand Prix 2011

(Rules: 11 races to choose from, best 5 count. Age as at 28th March 2010.
If a draw arises, races above 5 (if any) count.
The overall F and M winners will not be limited to Seniors (i.e. a veteran could be overall F or M winner)).

Everyone from the participating Clubs who completes 5 of the races will get something at the awards ceremony.

April 9th Sat 14.00 Wardle Skyline Wardle Square Nr Littleborough 7miles 1250’ BM Rochdale’s fell race with a sting in the tail!

May 7th Sat 11.00 Pendle Cloughs Downham village 14miles 4000’ AL Up the hill many times – tricky in mist!

29th Sunday 12.30 Saddleworth Tanners Mill, Greenfield 3miles 950’ AS Lovely tough route! Host club also offers junior races.

June 29th Wednesday 19.30 Eddie’s Revenge Buckstones Road, Shaw. 3.8 miles 1060’ AS Middleton’s all runnable race!
Free entry with a cake.

July 14th Thursday 19.30 Bull Hill Wagon & Horses, Hawkshaw. 5.5 miles 1100’ BS First race in Radcliffes 3 day series

August 3rd Wednesday 19.30 Hailstorm Hill Mountain bike trail centre, Bacup. 6.5miles 1200’ BS Rossendale’s new race. Free entry!

27th Saturday 14.30 Chipping Show Chipping Show Field ????? ?AM Traditional show fell race awaiting details.

September 17th Saturday 11.00 3 Shires Little Langdale 13miles 4000’ AL Classic brilliant Lakes fell race.

November 5th Saturday 13.00 Shepherds Skyline Lumbutts, Nr Todmorden. 6 miles 1100’ BM It’s never easy but a great start to winter.

Fellrunning can be a dangerous sport although considering the terrain we race and train on and the environment in which we conduct our sport thankfully mishaps and accidents are few and far between.There is no substitute for experience although there are simple things that we can all do to prevent misadventure and one of those is to invest in the proper kit.
