New
Junior members
or
anyone between the ages of 8 to 16 wishing
to come along to the club for the first
time should only attend on one of our
"Induction nights" ie the
First Tuesday in every month
at 6.45 pm .Any new Juniors attending
on any other night will not be accepted.

The lower
age limit for juniors at our club is 8.(
Children must be at least year 4 )
There is no need to pre-book or
contact us beforehand, just come along
on the night at 6.45 pm with full running
kit. We meet at Marl
Pits Sports Centre
and we are the building adjacent to the
track, come upstairs and someone will
help you out. You will meet one of our
coaches who will talk you through what
we do and he/she will then take you out
onto the track to assess your level of
fitness and commitment. As we train in
groups according to ability this will
enable the coach to assess which group
to place you in should you decide that
you want to continue coming to our club.
Please note.....we are a club who expects
our juniors to eventually compete in races,
if you are looking to just come along
for fitness training only then you may
be coming to the wrong club.

criteria for scoring points for the 2013
Junior club championships is as follows:
Track and Field.
Points scored for each event completed
in the 5 Mid Lancs track and field meetings
(not the medal meeting)
Fellrunning.
your best 4 out of the 6 English fell
champs races
Cross Country.
your best 3 from the 4 Red Rose races

Juniors the 2 main fell running competitions
are listed below.
Whilst our priority
will be the English
Junior Fell championships there
is also the local clubs
Fell Grand Prix series of races
which offers good competition.
